Until our recent house tour of Amy's Green House, we'd never really thought about round beds. Amy confessed that she had always wanted a round bed and that it was the first piece of furniture she bought for her new home...

Then we went to Europe and saw round beds everywhere, like the round bed shown above, which is from a Hastens store in Antwerp, Belgium. So we did some research and found more round bed options, along with previous AT posts on round beds.
Do you dream of a round bed? Or are you too worried about finding round sheets?
Shown above the jump are Amy's round bed and the Hastens Excelsior round bed. On this page, the Ruf Betten Circolo, a round hanging bed, and the Sercio Round Bed.

Past AT posts on round beds include:
- the Houston Mattress Factory round bed

That hanging bed looks kind of scary. I would be afraid it would fall.
Round beds are cool, but not very practical.

Yeah, for sleeping purposes (especially with a partner) this bed would be super-annoying (constant feet-dangling / correcting).
However there's always a slight kink factor associated with oddly-shaped beds that never fails to intrigue! :)

I am not a fan of the round bed (why???), but I have to say that the pink one with the chrome is quite discolicious.

So you're rectangular?

Roughly, yes.

I think that it would be fun in a guest room or kids playroom

My husband and I adore our round bed. Absolutely no feet dangling - it's a king with no corners and regular sheet sets fit perfect on the Ikea Sultan. Our house sitters sing praises when they sleep over, too.

i just wish round stuff wasn't so expensive. I'd love a round bed too!

Speaking of kink factor, I think the hanging bed is made from a trampoline!

I wish my bedroom were conducive to a round bed, because other than the hanging one, they're neat! The hanging one scares me -- I can imagine waking up with a bang on the floor when it comes unmoored!

Yes, like KTG said. I'm more rectangular than round. Being 6'3" I suppose if the round bed had a diameter of 10 feet it wouldnt much of an issue. But then, it'd take up a pretty big room. Additionally, round beds in square rooms seem like in-efficient space management for some reason.

They look kinda... stupid.
It's fun in the Hugh Hefner way... if I had tons of money and a Playboy mansion... but I don't, so it looks lame.

The hanging bed makes me think 70's swinger party. I love round beds as they look cool but I can't get my mind out of the gutter when I look at them.;)
