Wingback Silk Headboard from Urban Outfitters

WingbackHeadboardBlue.jpg

With our focus this month on bedrooms, we've been on the hunt for products to help dress up that important space. One of our favorite finds so far are these silk wingback headboards from Urban Outfitters. Available in three soothing colors (Tide Pool, Citron, and Bamboo), these headboards could complement a wide variety of color palettes...

These headboards attach to any standard queen-sized bed frame, and are made in the USA. Some assembly is required, and the headboards are available online only; you will not see them in stores. The headboards are $475 + $35 for shipping, and measure 65.5"l x 54"h x 12"d.

We would love to hear from any readers who have seen these headboards in person...

Dear heads were cool, when they were cool... These are just ugly.

I'm not sure what the above person is referring to or what his beef is. I think these are lovely and simple, though I haven't seen them in person and they could be pretty easily made by hand.

I'm guessing his comment was meant for another post about "dear" (sic) heads.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer but I need to spread the word about the owner of Urban Outfitters (a place where I've bought many, many products). For those of you who don't know, the owner is a strong supporter of Prop 8 and has other unfriendly political views (to left-thinking folks, anyway). I know this isn't a political site and I normally don't air my beliefs in inappropriate settings but for most of us gay and gay-friendly people, this is bad news when it comes to good bargain shopping and fun home goods. Just something to keep in mind the next time you step inside an Urban O store (and, unfortunately, Anthropologie).

J-Girl--

Thanks for the info - I think it's entirely appropriate that we know this information about Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie.

I certainly won't be buying my Penguin polo shirts from them anymore...

...as for the headboards - I'm 100% certain that they're not silk (Talk about misleading advertising) and they appear to be poorly crafted. Better to get your local upholstery guy to make exactly what you want for you.

Of course it wouldn't be an UO post without someone warning about the evils of the company.

We get it. Get over it.

Naah, it's welcome. There's an UO down the street in a self-consciously hip mini-mall that is known as "The Lab" or "The Anti-Mall".

Now that I have this info, it's another good reason for me to stay out of there...other than the ridiculous prices for sub-standard crap, and the over the top trendiness of the O.C. shoppers.

Thanks, J-Girl!
