• 1 Sally Steponkus and Heather Safferstone created the vibrant sitting room, accenting the deep gray walls with punches of (karate chopped!) yellow. The gray (Farrow & Ball's Mouse Back) and yellow combo is a clear favorite throughout this year's Design House. One of our favorite elements, aside from the Kravet chairs, is the mirrored screen which adds a youthful, edgy depth to an empty corner. It also allows the light to bounce around the room.


• 2 We fell in love with David Mitchell's serene use of sun hues in the pale blue living room. The yellow on the patterned pillows and trim of the cut sisal rugs give the traditional room a contemporary edge.


• 3 The warm yellow walls of Camille Saum's dining room made us feel like we'd just spent an hour in the sun.


• 4 Joe Ireland and Julie Weber of JD Ireland commissioned Stacey Tranter of Twin Diamond Studios to paint the stunning trees that draw attention to the sunny stairway window.


• 5 We swooned over The Lotus Papers from Farrow & Ball that the JD Ireland duo used in the front hallway and staircase. It's a bold statement for a traditional design event.The connecting vestibule was transformed to a vibrant welcome space by Michael Roberson, who balanced the sunny walls with Farrow & Ball's deep gray Mouse Back on the ceiling.
