Okay, the word "chandi" is annoying, but these chandeliers are anything but. The Jolly Rancher-like colors take an elegant object and make it spunky. How about this fun way to add color with your lighting?

Barovier&Toso is an ancient glassmaking company, dating back to 1295. This makes them the oldest fmaily of glassmakers in the world. These particular Barovier pieces remind us of Dale Chihuly's use of bright color &mdash maybe Chihuly took some inspiration from Barovier?
We found them on New England Home magazine's Web site, and our Barovier&Toso contact says that the closest sources near DC are actually two stores in New York City:
M S K Illuminations, 235 E. 57th St., New York, NY 10022, 212.888.6474
Artistic Tile, uptown and downtown New York locations: 38 West 21st Street, New York, NY 10010, 212.727-9331; 150 East 58th Street, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10155, 212.838-3222

Um - Chandi (also Chandika) is the name of the supreme Hindu Goddess of Devi Mahatmya, and one of the most popular folk deities in Bengal.

Chandelirium.com is some crazy kooky gals obsession with chandeliers....enjoy, or avert your eyes, whichever.
These chandeliers pictured come in various colors, including clear, meaning, you have choice. On the Borovier&Toso website you don't really get a sense of all the colors possible. Most are presented as pure shapes (clear/colorless).

@bepsf: I think she just meant that "chandi" is annoying as an abbreviation for "chandelier." I'm sure she has nothing against it as a proper name. :)
These are kind of flashy, and I'd probably be afraid to hang one in my house, but gosh, are they beautiful.

Love these!!
They remind me of what I just did as a temp fix for the light fixture in our dining room. I had yet to find anything I was ready to jump on, but it seemed to dull for the rest of the room- so I painted it electric blue! :D
