Now take a tour of the historic building's features, which include original servants' elevator and washrooms, a basement architectural salvage room — where residents can leave or pick up original building elements — a billiards room, and a summer house.
When it first opened in 1905, The Ontario was a popular home for Civil War widows. The billiard table was bought when the building opened and is still used by residents! The old boiler room is now used as a bike room. Building residents have a communal herb garden.
To restore his apartment back to its original condition, Scott found building elements — including doors and the fireplace mantel — in the building's basement salvage room.
