We love collecting things, and it certainly helps when you actually lived through the moments that your prized possessions came from. Maybe that's why we really appreciate our skateboard memorabilia collections and took the time to display them throughout our home..
When we first moved in together we were weary our skateboard memorabilia was going to make our home look too masculine; but we were wrong. We took pride in our collection and love of skateboard art and they make for great conversational pieces when we have guests.
We purposely spread our collection throughout our home to minimize it becoming over powering. We have items in our living room, dining room, kitchen (yes, but it actually works!) and office.
Do you have a large collection displayed in your home?

How did you hang your decks? That was my question last week:

I got a bunch of good suggestions, but I think we'll just use fishing line. Is that what you used?

@visualingual it was super easy. we actually used very thin wire and tiny nails from IKEA! But of course fishing line would work great as well, minimize any trace of hanging materials!

I have a skateboard deck hanging in my living room and love it!

Mine was made for an art auction though so it was made to be hung. There are two screws in the back (top of the deck) that I attached wire to.
Does your deck have holes already for the truck? You should be able to put screws into those without damage.

kind of hard to explain, but its a really simple solution.
my friend took a wire coat hanger....and cut it into about a ten inch length and then bent it into an upside down V shape. at the bottom of the V, he bent the two ends 90 degrees. those two ends fit into the two topmost truck holes in the deck. the the V hangs by a nail in the wall.
here is a cruddy diagram i drew:

Would you mind sharing your sources for the framed art pieces? My brother's big into skateboarding, and has got some very blank walls, so you could really help me with some early Christmas shopping...

@Catherine W Honestly, all of those pieces that are shown, and even the ones that I didn't show we collected from being at actual events, or from buying old skate videos back in the day. My boyfriend is huge on saving EVERYTHING, and for this collection I'm glad he did :)
With that said, you could definitely try ebay. That's always a good start for memorabilia. Or check out the local skateshops in your area.

This makes me wish I still had my good old Tony Hawk deck and other Powell Peralta gear from back in the '80s...
