What inspired you to use color? This is the first home we have ever owned so we really wanted to make it ours. My husband and I both came from apartment white backgrounds and we were tired of it! We had a great time choosing the colors together and feel that the space really reflects our personalities.
Color Tip: Make sure to look at the color in every kind of light before using it. That makes such a huge difference!
Colors Used: We used custom colors in the kitchen and our bedroom. The livingroom is Old Mill, the Bathroom is Serenity, and the guest room is Whispering Spring.
Fall Colors Introduction -------------------------------
Welcome, everyone, to our Fourth Annual Fall Colors Sharing & Contest. We're looking for the most beautiful & colorful home in the world and sharing all of the great ideas we get with our readers. This year we're amping things up and hoping to do things better than ever. There are two basic phases, the Sharing Phase and the Voting Phase...
1. Sharing Phase - you comment, judges decide
The 40 best, completed entries will be posted on a daily basis for three weeks. You can view them all at anytime via our new, improved contest pages under ALL ENTRIES. During this time your comments are VERY IMPORTANT as our six judges will be choosing 16 finalists from each region based on comments and their own colorful opinion.
2. Voting Phase - you vote till you drop
Starting October 20th, finalist voting will begin on a daily basis through our new bracketed voting system, which will pit our 16 finalists against one another until only one remains. Sound exciting? We hope so.

Thanks everyone! The coffee table is the Besta Series from IKEA and the Old Mill paint is from WalMart. The quilts are heirloom except for the black and white one which is Bob Timberlake and the art is local!

Well, if this house reflects your personalities, you both should have lovely personalities. The bedroom with the light green curtains, blue walls, red bed, and beautiful quilt was really something special. I also liked what you did with your dining space. Whoever painted the walls in the living room did a superb job. Congratulations on a beautiful home that you have designed yourself! The nursery indicates you're raising a young child. This is a beautiful 1st home. I love the living room and the huge splash of color with the curtians. I also really like the kitchen and the shelf you used to seperate the breakfast room and the kitchen (also, cute dog!) That is a terrific idea! Love all your colors in your home. Great job!!
