TOOLS

TOOLS:
Plaid Folk Art Acrylic Paints- 433 Terra Cotta, 467 Italian Sage
Brush
Pencil
String
Ladder

STEPS:
1. DETERMINE DIAMETER OF CIRCLE Loosely tie one end of the string to the light fixture near the ceiling. Pull the string horizontally until you reach the desired diameter of the flower ring. Tie the pencil to the end of the string. Moving in a circle around the the light fixture, use the pencil to lightly draw a circle on the wall making sure to keep the string taut. If a fixture does not exists, simply have a friend hold the string at the center point.
2. PAINT VINE Using the circle as a guide and the sage green, paint the center branch of the vine. Then add smaller branches and leaves.
3. PAINT FLOWERS Using terra cotta, add flowers to the vine. Try to add flowers in different stages of bloom. You may add as much detail as you choose to flowers. Bees, butterflies or ladybugs can also be added.

RESOURCES:
Painting is one of my hobbies, and I decided to use the "One Stroke" technique to paint this rose vine. This painting technique is easy to master and allows for quick process. This is important when painting in such an awkward position. Sorry I forgot to take a before image, I roughly retouched the photo to remove the vine.

It wouldn't work at all with my style or my home, but it looks fabulous - brava Miss A!

Love it! Would love to do it but am not good at painting like that. Can only do sketches.

I've always wanted to paint a simple black medallion in my dining room. It's on the long and ever-expanding to-do list.
