Inspiration: Rooftop Deck Turned Outdoor Room
Southern Living

Searching around for roofers (anyone out there know of a great roofer?), led me to discover this lovely rooftop deck in Baltimore via Southern Living. Nestled in the Canterbury-Tuscany neighborhood of North Baltimore, this 15-by-20 foot terrace proves you can live large with a modest-size space...

Rosemary Conroy, homeowner and decorator, treats her garden space like an outdoor living room. The weathered wood floor is painted in a diamond pattern of gray tones. The furnishings are a mix of wood and iron; some conveniently serving double duty as storage space while others fold for off-season storage. The pillow fabric was chosen to complement the color palette found in the garden; colors chosen for their cool feeling during hot summer months. But the main attraction of the garden is the garden itself. Houseplants are "taken on a walk" for summer and find a place on a table or the deck. Latticework is covered with climbing clematis vines and lend a veil of privacy. And yucca plants add a tropical feel.

Now, would it be possible (and look good) to recreate the diamond pattern on a wood fence? Hmm, thoughts anyone?

The diamond shape on a fence shouldn't be too hard at all! And as long as some of it is covered by pretty foliage, it would work great! I love the look of the space and the colors!

I hope that one day my garden will be as lush and colourful as this.
