We missed the grand opening event because of a hurricane, but we were finally able to make it back to Terasol to profile the store for our readers. Filled with handcrafted goods by local potters, Terasol is a lovely addition to the Chevy Chase Arcade shopping experience...

Terasol features a wonderful selection of clay goods both functional and decorative. The tea sets, flower pots and vases would make reasonably priced hostess gifts, and even the larger objects like vessel sinks and artwork are refreshingly affordable for the neighborhood.

Owner Sabrina Ousmaal is extremely friendly and eager to tell customers about the store and the potters whose works grace the shelves. An executive in the trade publishing business, Sabrina herself is one of the twelve potters whose goods are for sale in the store. Also featured are the works of Washington Post reporter Amy Goldstein, organic farmer Michael Pappas, filmmaker Courtenay Singer, and long-time potter and instructor Karen Bearman.

With the holidays just around the corner, Terasol is a great place to pick up unique gifts; certainly our friends and family should expect a clay-filled Chrismahanukwanzakah!

I love the black teaset! I wish they had a website though...
