Good Questions: Finding the Louis Poulsen Snowball in DC?

LouisPoulsenSnowball.jpg

Apartment Therapy DC reader Sophia needs help finding her favorite pendant light:

"I am thinking of purchasing the Louis Poulsen Snowball pendant light (can't afford the artichoke!), but I can't find any place in DC to see it in person. I am nervous of ordering it online; I'm worried that if I change my mind and something happens to it on the way back I'll just end up throwing away $2,000+! Do you know of any store/hotel/restaurant in the DC area where I can see it? Thank you!"

You should try the Poulsen dealers in the DC area. Check the Poulsen web site for a list:

Alternatively, you could contact Annette Rachlin at Furniture from Scandinavia: (202) 244-7876. She is an expert in high end Danish furniture and is likely to know where you could find the lamp on display.

and if you do like it, you can always look for a "vintage" one on eBay -- much less expensive than new.

It's a lovely light, but it does look almost identical to a Danish light that shows up on eBay from time to time. I purchased mine for less than $400 from a guy that goes to Denmark on purchasing trips until he fills a shipping container with furniture, lighting, etc. Mine has the "pull down" feature too.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I actually did contact Alliance, and I can certainly order it from them, but they don't have it on display and they don't accept returns. I'll try out the other options. If anyone else knows a place to see it though, pls let me know!
