ATDC reader KS needs help identifying this new garage sale find:
Hi ATDC,
I just got this nice round coffee table (38" diameter 14" height) from a garage sale. I wonder if any of you know who made this table. I believe this is a mid-century modern furniture, but the label underneath the table is missing. Also, can you tell what kind of wood it is made of ? Thanks!

The wood is walnut, which means this piece is most likely American. Love the base! I'd say, mid 1950s-60s.

It looks more like teak to me, but it could be walnut... teak is more warm brown, walnut more cool brown

It has a Heywood-Wakefield vibe to me, but I don't have any real evidence to back up that guess.

My bet is that it's by Lane - possibly their Copenhagen line - made with a walnut veneer over a less expensive wood.

I question that it is Lane. Lane is usually marked with a stamp(burned) into the wood. Although I am of no actual help either.
