Good Questions: Looking for a Small Round Side Table

urban end table.jpeg

ATDC reader Carolyn needs help finding a table:

Hi AT:DC,
I'm hoping someone out there in the wild and wonderful interweb can help us out with some suggestions for a small round end table. I love the look of this one from Urban Outfitters ... just hate the photo on top! I've hunted around IKEA but the only thing I can find is on casters. Can anyone suggest something similar - a small (less than 18 inch diameter) white (or wood) round end table to squeeze into the living room? Help! Many thanks - Carolyn in D.C.

Carolyn,
We love the Vanessa Table from Overstock.com (pictured below) and the size is right for your space. Overstock also has several round tables in different wood colors. Do any of our readers have suggestions for Carolyn?

What's your price range? Room and Board carries Eames and Saarinen end tables that might meet your needs.

Target has a saarinen knock off right now. It's pretty lightweight metal but the look is nice. comes in white or black

If you can get to an urban Outfitters store, they have lots more patterns of that little table... I got an orange one with polka dots that seems pretty sturdy.

Flea Markets and Craigslist - and a can of paint to make it your own.

We just sold tables that fit your bill last weekend on craigslist. http://www.flickr.com/photos/22985814@N03/2751477408/

I think a dealer in NJ bought them, so you may be able to track them down. They are 18" in diameter and 16" high.

CB2 has a white round table:

I have a similar one to the Urban Outfitters table, but it's glass top with silver (and more of a Saarinen knock-off):

I was going to suggest the one from Target as well. But I saw it with all the college stuff at the stores which is being weeded out, so it might be hard to find in stores.

i actually bought that table online from urban outfitters thinking i could paint over the ugly picture (it was a paint by number dog). come to find out, it was even better than i thought... it's a decal that you can peel right off!

Wow, so many great suggestions! I think I may be leaning towards the CB2 table, bene, or just popping over to urban, buying the darn thing and hopefully peeling over the sticker, open_skies! Thanks all :)

I second the idea of DIYing over the tabletop of the cheap [!] UO table.

I was going to suggest the same as AndreaU about the knockoff target side table. Its very sturdy and I believe is currently on sale for $14

I have two of the CB2 Ergo tables linked above. It's built very well - the feet are solid steel and the top is a nice glossy white - and it's a good value on sale now for $49.95.

To add on to what others have said, I also have the table from CB2 and it works great. I wanted the round shape to go with the curves of the Swan Chairs the table sits between. Because of the high gloss finish, I've added a piece of glass to mine to avoid scratches.
