Good Questions: Ripple Pendant Lamp?

WaveBowl.jpgATDC reader Laura is looking for a very specific pendant lamp:

I know this is a long shot, but I had once seen a pendant lamp which had a shade that was very reminicent of this bowl. I ran across this bowl and thought I would like to try to find the lamp, but I'm not having any luck google-searching. Has anyone ever seen anything like this and have any idea where I could find it?
Thanks, Laura

Laura- We're sorry to say that our Google search has been equally fruitless, so we're turning this over to our readers in the hope that someone recognizes the shape. If no one can help, we wonder if it might be possible to use the bowl itself as a pendant? It would require some modification obviously, but depending on the configuration, it might be possible...

Does anyone know where Laura can find her dream pendant light? Let us know in the comments...

Thanks so much for the suggestions!

larchgirl - That is pretty close, although the one that I had seen was ceramic.

I actually am kind of inspired to try converting the bowl, but I have some hesitations, as it's pretty flat, so I don't know how much it will actually shade the bulb. I might instead try to rig up a floor or table lamp instead, but I will let you know what I end up doing.

The company that has been making this form, since time began, is called Abolite. They make a lot of very familiar sign lights (“Abolite Angled Reflector”), and have a very iconic look.

The fixture you probably looking for is the Abolite Radial Wave.
