ATDC reader Gso2008 is trying to choose between two IKEA workstations: "Hello AT-DC! I am in the process of reorganizing and downsizing my workspace... so I can be a more productive student :) I like the IKEA PS workstation that was highlighted in AT a few months ago. But, IKEA also has another similar product under the Ludvig series. They are both within budget, but I was wondering how they compare. Have any of your readers used these? Which one is sturdier? My walls will be a pale blue, and the work area gets very strong direct sunlight for most of the day. I was wondering if the Ludvig might get discolored as it appears to have a plastic coating. Any reviews, recommendations, user experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!"

I want the PS workstation too - but my problem is there is molding on all the walls in my apartment, so I am in the process of making my own version that works around the molding.

I have the PS workstation and I looove it! It was easy to assemble and mount to the wall. All the cords fit nicely underneath, plugged into a power strip with only the power strip cord coming out of the bottom. I was even able to fit my external hard drive underneath as well as speakers on the inside shelves. It's a great "desk" solution for a small space, it looks great in my apartment and I get a lot of compliments on it. Unfortunately I’m not familiar with the Ludvig, but I’d highly recommend the PS.

I would recomend The PS station. It has more storage compartment when you open it. It also looks which is a bonus if you don't want anyone to go through your computer file.

the PS is much cooler looking! I've never used it but I would definitely buy it over the other one.

Based on looks alone, I'd go for the PS. I think the red against your blue walls could look pretty snazzy, but it depends on the rest of your decor.

We have the Ludvig workstation in our bedroom and love it. It's in a darker corner, so we haven't experienced any discoloration. We also got the Alve Storage bench to sit on underneath, which makes it the perfect small space work area for us. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40120840
