Great Escape: Hotel Azucar

Rustic elegance + complete serenity = my idea of heaven. As Great Escapes month comes to a comes to a close, I'm inviting you to my favorite cyber-getaway, Veracruz's Hotel Azucar, which was clearly created with heaven in mind. Even for those of us who are not planning a Mexican holiday in the near future, there is plenty of peace and design inspiration to be gleaned from the hotel's immaculately white interiors and comfortable, spare environs...

The boutique hotel consists of twenty guest bungalows adorned in minimalist, white on white decor with driftwood accents, cedar doors, and spots of vibrant pink and green. In addition to the thatched roof bungalows, the hotel also houses a semi-outdoor library, meditation spot, chapel, and spa.

While we love artwork and patterns in our own home, we appreciate the prominence that the spare interiors give to the beauty of the Gulf coast locale. The natural materials used indoors blend effortlessly into the serene environment around them.

Adding to the dream-like setting is the sweet little price-tag, with bungalows starting below $100 a night.

For reservations and more delicious photos, visit the hotel's website.

This sounds/looks amazing!

I can't tell if you've been or are dreaming of going (like me) - Do you know how much the 4-person Cessna from Mexico City to the hotel costs?
