Bamboo Screen from Gaiam

BambooScreen.jpg

Given the challenges of small-space living, we are always on the lookout for room dividers or screens that can help create privacy or hide a cluttered office space. Since we are equally committed to an eco-friendly lifestyle, we were delighted to find this bamboo screen to share with like-minded readers...

This Bamboo Screen from Gaiam is made from sustainable, pesticide-free bamboo which gives it a wonderful flexibility. The screen can be curved to best fit your space, or rolled up tight to be stored out of the way if necessary. Measuring 8'W x 6'H, Gaiam's Bamboo Screen weighs a mere 30lbs. At $299, this screen is more expensive than some other options, but we believe the price is justified by its unique flexibility.

Personally, I don't think $299 is a lot for a screen with those many qualities. The fact that it can be stored away so easily is a bonus!

Nice find!

I work at a luxury spa in Minneapolis and we use these to hide storage areas, section off private group spaces and more. They're extremely durable and after almost 2 years of daily use show no wear, plus are very light and easy to move. Highly recommend them!

I really like the screen, but I must say that I think that it is a complete knock off... Architect Alvar Aalto had designed a screen like this in 1936 (it is made of pine).
