DC Green Festival

The fifth annual Washington DC Green Festival is coming to the Convention Center November 8th & 9th. A joint project of Global Exchange and Co-op America, the Green Festival celebrates green efforts that are making a difference in the local community. The festival features speakers, how-to workshops, family activities, vegetarian cuisine and even organic beer...

The DC Green Festival will include special pavilions focused on greening your home and Fair Trade goods. We are especially interested in the demonstration of apartment-scaled composting with worms (Sunday at 2pm) and the presentation on the Mount Pleasant Solar Co-op (Saturday at 4pm).

The festival runs Saturday 10am to 7pm and Sunday 11am to 6pm. You can take the yellow or green line Metro to the Mt. Vernon Square station, or the DC Circulator from the SW Waterfront. Tickets are $15 per person ($10 for college students, seniors, bike riders, public transit riders and union members); kids 18 and under can enter for free.
