British designer Lucy Renshaw creates colorful furniture and home accessories out of recycled fabrics and repurposed materials. In making her origin designs, Lucy Renshaw combines experimental ideas with traditional textile techniques like surface embellishment, embroidery, and screen printing. Her materials include popsicle sticks, knit fabrics, socks, and broken chair pieces.

As much as I like the concept, these are too self-consciously "amateur" for my taste.

In Maine, believe it or not, people go to "the transfer station" (the dump) to get stuff like this to recycle and reuse making new things out of it like Lucy has.

I love the idea of using recycled or found materials to make beautiful and new things!...but until they become more affordable, this is a bandwagon I won't be jumping on.

Inspiring.
If i do it, it's trashpicking.
If she does it, it's art.

I'm kind of a form-follows-function gal. Not getting the conjoined white chair. But I accept it as art.
