To finish up our arts and crafts coverage for September, we were delighted to find this playful and eco-friendly take on the ubiquitous deer head wall art. Made from recycled farm equipment parts by a former organic dairy farmer, these metal pieces would make a quirky and wonderful addition to any home...

Artists Ben and Kate Gatski have created a business to honor agriculture through art. They collect machine parts from farms and machinery dealers across Pennsylvania, and transform those parts into art and sculpture. We love that the Gatskis find beauty in mundane farm equipment, and inspiration in larger pieces like tractors. See more of their wonderful creations at the Gatski Metal website.

Art or kitsch?

It's kitsch, it's art, it's... "Artsch"? I like it and I'm big on reusing stuff. Just not into making recycling a religion.
