I think the idea is hot but the execution looks tacky -- I know he was probably trying to center the group of albums between the back of the couch and the ceiling, but it's all hung too high. Stuff hung too high on the wall is my main decorating pet peeve!!!

I don't mind it but its just way too high on the wall. I'm with krikri on that one...my pet peeve!

yeah its too high and I dont like it that room but maybe in like a room with a pool table or in a hallway or something.

I like it, I plan on doing it with Prince albums very soon!

personally i think its terrible...but it wouldn't look half as bad had the owner extended the red paint on the wall the frames were hung. it would have made them a little more bearable. as is...terrible.

Madonna worship can never go too far.
But it can sit about 8" too high.

I like but I hate the wall colors.

FYI... You can get the album frames cheaper if you keep your eye out for them. I got some at the Christmas Tree Shop a couple of years ago for $2.99 each. The discount places will sometimes have deals like that.

Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and Target have album frames too. They're about $5 at Michael's and HL. They're surprising well made and sturdy.

I haven't framed any albums but I have currently have six of them hanging in my house with a long hallway to do next.

Also - standard scrapbooking pages fit perfectly in these frames.

I have 4 album frames hung on the wall above a bar cart in my kitchen. I picked them up at Michael's Crafts for about $5 each. While a permanent Madonna fixture isn't for me, I love changing them out with the seasons, or for a particular party theme.

maybe if it wasn't Madonna, I'd think different.

I'd love to do this with black frames and ECM record covers. Their jazz and contemporary music albums have the most beautiful designing ever made for music records, with the work of great photographer and typographers from the 70s to nowadays :

I'm a big fan of theirs, although I admit that sometimes the album artwork is better than the incredibly boring music.

i like the idea of framing albums - my parents had these kitchy 70's albums from india with amazing artwork - i grabbed them about a year ago - knowing they're gonna go up on a wall somewhere in my place.

but all madonna (or all 1 artist) i wouldn't do - seems kinda high school. but then some people would probably hate all my ethnic stuff - so to each their own.

I totally dig it! I think it is a nice spin on the record decor.

I collect vintage Disney records, and have those displayed. I like the "big picture" idea - mine are currently along the length of the wall.

Personally, I like actual wood frames - I got mine at Aaron Brothers for $15 a pop.

I agree that the frames are hung too high on the wall and the opposing wall should not be red, not when a majority is taken over with windows. But why criticize the Madonna content...?

Not a Madonna fan, but I like the grouping idea. I've done it with prints by a particular artist or theme.

Too high, too expensive, too much.

Not my taste, at all, but you must surround yourself with what makes you happy, I have a ton of friends who would be thrilled to have a Madonna display like that. But those frames look so cheap even if they are so utterly pricey. I would have gone for some limited edition or rare $225 poster instead!

I like the idea, but does look like it needs an extra row on the bottom. Gotta get some more 12" remixes! My girlfriend did something similar with our Fillmore concert posters, which we change out every now and then. It looks really good and and gets high marks from visitors.

maybe I'm just a bit biased to vote not since I am soooooo not a fan of madonna at all. it's a neat idea but I dunno, a tribute to someone who can't even sing? I dunno about that......

Too high, as a zillion others have mentioned, and I don't care for the arrangement of the album covers themselves. And some are portraits while some are near full body shots - it would look better if he'd stuck with covers that were portraits. Since the wall behind is white, he should have also avoided covers with a lot of white in them (Vogue, Justify Yourself), unless he wants them to look like holes.

While Madonna was able to avail herself of some of the finest designers and photographers in the business, I find the whole idea of a wall full of Madonna covers tacky, sad and stereotypically gay.

If I were going to do a wall of album covers like that, I'd probably select them based on some unifying theme other than artist - dominant color, say, or the presence of common elements in their images (like foliage, cars, or portraits).

Better yet, I'd have them scanned, enlarge or reduce the individual images, create a collage in Photoshop, have it professionally printed and mount that on the wall.

I love the set-up, but it being album covers and Madonna sort of cheapens it. It makes it seem fanatical. Replace the pictures with something else (nature, family, art) and it'd be great.

That is the most brilliant beautiful thing I ever seen made with albums, I will copy that idea and it's a very elegant way to show some love to your idol.

I'm doing something similar, only with Madge CD cases on top of a non-working bathroom vanity light. I plan on adding a few album covers in the room as well, which already has a day-glo 80's/drag-y thing going on. I don't think it's the most chic thing you'll ever see, but it adds levity to the room and gives me an excuse to have fun with my 25-year long Madonna obsession!

It's apparent we have people commenting who are hard up for cash and like to have their head smacked by wall art while relaxing on the sofa...
