Those dining chairs are fantastic.

Something about the current splayed out display of artwork above the sofa makes the living room feel incohesive. I would suggest rehanging it in a tighter grouping so that there is a focal point for the eye and a sense of balance.

What a fun place! You have a wonderful collection of vintage furniture and collectibles. Definitely my style of decorating. Its great that even though you have white walls, your home is very colorful. By the way, what is the name of the Ikea side table in the living room? I don't seem to be able to find it on their website. I'll be searching craigslist for one soon. Thanks so much for sharing your space!

I love your colorful living room. Your place looks very cozy and fun, and not austere as some houses on tour look. I agree, though, that your pictures over the couch should be closer together.

I'm surprised, though, that you don't have rugs, given your penchant for color. But it's all lovely.

I love your apartment! This is exactly the feel that I wanted for my apartment but didn't succeed in doing!

I like Ann's place. She has the nerve to use a Noguchi coffee-table (or a Noguch knock off)! It's a design icon but it isn't used much. I like Ann's art. I like her Christmas tree. I like the stripes on her sofa. I like her Ugli doll.

I like that she works as a currency designer.

I like all the joyful colors.

As to the "collections," they could be pared down by at least half and be more effective. I particularly don't like yarn thingies that hang down without any point to them. Lava lamps are so far gone that they are no longer entertaining or decorative. How did such a talented woman go so wrong with the cutesy wall hanging with doll-like redcoated hunters?

Laura, you're really a lovely person with a lot of talent. Good luck to you. I'd like to see your space in ten years! Or actually every year, as your life evolves. I bet your friends just love to know you.

Great color. Love the grouping of prints above the kitchen table. Very nice.

I see some amazing potential in this place that could benefit from someone coming over and pulling various things together that, currently, almost work. For instance, the art could be arranged to create a series of focal points that better delineate areas of the home. Rugs could be used to help achieve the same purpose. Right now, the teeny rug under the Noguchi coffeetable does nothing for me.

I also really wish that the photos were better-quality. If better lighting is not available in a home, the images could be lighted up, cropped, and otherwise touched up in Photoshop. These photos really don't do the home any favors; I don't think they show it in the best light.

I totally love your place, we have similiar styles, I love color just as much, great job, but yes put your pics above the couch a little closer together. I love the ugly doll, the red chaise and the orange front door. your pillow cases are so bright and fun and I totally love the couch!

Are those Vargas prints on your wall. A collection of his girls. Love that. Nice, very nice.

It's got a fun look, which I like, but I don't like when there are so many recognizable things/pieces of furniture in every room of an apartment. If I can name 3-4 items (or the store where they were purchased) in every room, it starts to look unoriginal to me.

Simply put, I think your place is hip and cool.

Quick note, does your power bar have to stick out from under your entertainment center?

Love the place!!! It's just what I'd have if my SO wasn't such a stalwart on colour.
I think I'd put some more artwork over the couch (closer to the bedroom door), and I'd have a bigger flokati rug under the coffee table. I might also have a rug to delineate the eating area too.

There so much potential with all the fun, hip and cool pieces all about the place. I just don't see it put all together. In some places its too much and in others its lacking. I'll leave it at that..

I found out what the table is called (had to look in one of my old Ikea catalogs). It is the Ilen trolley table. They no longer carry it, but I'm sure one could be found on Craigslist somewhere.

All those iconic pieces must be fun to move around... that's what I would suggest.

As has been noted, it's the old Ilen TV stand from IKEA, no longer made since it's not the right dimensions for today's widescreen sets. I have two of them, which I initially used for my stereo, then later used as a two-piece coffee table. They've since been repurposed yet again, this time as nightstands. Best $80 (or whatever) I ever spent at IKEA, though they are starting to get a little dinged up (not least of which because the cat has cracked the plastic panels at the back of them by leaping right on top of them - snap!).

I wish IKEA would put them back into production, maybe with a matching "widescreen" version that could be used as a coffee table all by itself.

envious of your ability to have an eat-in kitchen. my apt has a similar layout, but my kitchen is too skinny for anything but some bar stools.

agreed about the need for rugs and the pics about the couch grouped closer. might give your lr a bit more sense of "space."
