The coffee table is shaped in a cross, echoing the Swiss flag. Pops of red mixed with white, black, and neutrals also represent the Swiss flag. A wall of the reading room shows photographs of famous Swiss people, like the artist Alberto Giacommetti. The residence was designed by architectural firms Rüssli Architekten (Lucern, Switzerland) and Steven Holl Architects (New York), who collaborated to unanimously win a design competition for the Swiss building in 2001.

the first picture would of been more Swiss if those coffee sectional tables were red and the rug was white/cream color.

I think we should allow LoriSF to comment on why she thinks her colour combination is more Swiss. I really do hope that she did not actually think that my countries flag is according to her combination. Awesome coffee table!

Probably because she is confusing the emblem of the Red Cross for the flag of Switzerland.
I hope the Swiss Ambassador does a lot of sleeping when he is home, because his place is boring as hell.
If the designer of this space got together with the designer of John Mayer's apartment, they might be able to create a living space so boring that it would rip a hole in space that could destroy the planet.

goodness I met it would of been a more fun play on the Swiss flag, sorry (less literal) I will try not to multi task while on AT, did not mean to insult anyone.

The coffee table is nice, that living room looks huge. I love everything about this room, spacious but still has everything you need for essentials to a living room.
