Let's celebrate what Domino was with one of the fun ideas the magazine taught us — how to define your style in words. Is your style Eclecticly exotic? Maybe it's Dramatic noir? Or perhaps you prefer Sentimentally sweet, like cotton candy? Tell us how you describe your home's personality.
In the first chapter of Domino: The Book of Decorating, the editors ask us to define our style:
"Gather all the threads you've identified, and try to attach words to them. Don't worry about settling on one term; people tend to have a style that's mostly this with a little bit of that: kind of bohemian plus a dash of classic, mostly Dorothy Draper with a dollop of Sid Vicious."
We hear a lot of people describe their style as "eclectic and modern" or "traditional plus contemporary" — break out of the box, we say! Try new words!

As I examine which pieces and patterns and colors I'm drawn to in home décor stores and catalogues, I realize that I'm consistently attracted to brown textiles with white patterns, like the below sheet set from Crate & Barrel, or contemporary-shaped furniture with a fun cut-out pattern, like the Morocco headboard from West Elm. I would add color to the duo with autumn orange and cobalt blue pillows.

I'm calling my style "neutral patterned interest." How do you define your style?

As for me, this is a curious exercise. What phrase to describe a place that is colorful and ultra-quirky, with lots of nods to contemporary pop-culture geekery but also nods to 60s & 70s modern, but only on a super tight budget?
