Like Leah's nieces who string together fall leaves for her mantle, gathering pinecones and placing them into a serving bowl is one of the easiest ways to bring fall into the home.

Now's the time, before leaves or pinecones get mooshy, to gather up fall's beauty and make a table centerpiece. Just like a bowl of apples, a lit candle, or a vase of flowers, it's the little things that bring the most life into rooms.
Our only disclaimer: beware of the sap!
That is easy. Maybe it's just me, but I tend to think of them as more winter decor. I like it either way. :)

My minister went to a nearby park and collected pinecones, acorns, redbud pods and those things that look like green oranges. He was doing a sermon on the seeds of new life, but it was totally lost on me because all I could think "I have got to do that! That would make a great centerpiece!"

What a great idea! You could also use those cinnamon scented pinecones. Mmm! I love cinnamon.

The things that look like green oranges could be hedge apples. I love their texture and color. They are supposed to keep spiders away.

I collected pinecones from my front yard last fall to use as decor. I was proudly displaying these all over the place and then to my horror I discovered that they were infested with spiders. Not going to do that again this year!
