An arrangement of multicolored tumblers caught our eye a few weeks ago and we started thinking about the many ways that one can arrange objects in a home in ROYGBIV order to create an eye-catching display — like a color-coded closet or colorful vintage glassware in a row or even a rainbow-striped pillow on a sofa for a bright spot of kaleidoscopic wonder...
We found the original inspiration at Vivi, a home decor store in Bethesda, but when we looked around we saw that many others are inspired by the rainbow as well, whether in as assembly of objects or in stripes on one object. We just can't get enough of color right now, and what better way to emphasize color in your home than all shades at once?
Confetti mixing bowl set from Urban Outfitters, $28
- Pandora Design's Baroque Plastic Deluxe Cutlery by Donata Paruccini and Fabio Bortolani, $20 from Charles & Marie

Those melamine bowls remind me of mixing bowls that were popular back in the 50's and 60's...
...and those pillows are kinda pretty - but aren't they from India or China?
And that plastic cutlery - it's $20 for one 4-piece place setting!!! Spend $6 more at C&B and you could have a 5-piece placesetting of Stainless Steel that will last you forever!
Do any of us really need more plastic/temporary stuff, regardless of the color?

I have the bowls, a gift, & my first thought was they did remind me of the bowls that were pretty common when I was a kid.

the bowls remind me of plastic cups that have been used to store crayons.

I have the bowls. They're super cute - plus they are made completely of recycled materials.

bepsf - probably 90% of the stuff you find in stores is made in China or India!
