Inspiration: Arranging Objects Like Morandi Still Lifes

Giorgio Morandi (1907-64) brought new meaning to appreciating home objects. The Italian painter never tired of studying, rearranging, and painting the same bottles, jars, and pots in his Bologna, Italy studio for over 50 years. That's right, 50 YEARS! The Phillips Collection in DC, which is currently showing Georgio Morandi's still life paintings, held a contest with the The DCIst challenging readers to "Make Your Own Morandi." Shown is the winner of the contest, "glass morandi" by flickr user dr_kim_veis. We were inspired to try this at home.
