My Great Outdoors: Myarmn's Unwinding Space

2009greatoutdoorsbadge.gifName: Myarmn
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Type of space: Patio
Tell us about your outdoor project and how you enjoy it: This is my unwinding space. I wait for Spring and Summer so that my kitchen garden can come alive. After a long day, there is nothing more relaxing than sitting in my patio, sipping lemonade and watch my son play in the backyard. Or just watch the birds come by and eat out of the bird feeder. All this while my darling cherub watches over my tiny Eden...

How did you create it? This is my kitchen garden in my 11 x 5 feet patio. I have placed a bistro set at one corner. The table also has my mint plant tucked underneath. I have lined the rest of the plants to the edges so I have some walking space. I have tied the tomato plants to the railing for support. On the other side, I have my nursery and my version of square foot garden. I have used cardboard boxes from Costco, lined it with a plastic bag (punched holes in both)and filled it with potting soil. All my garden tools are kept in a box in the corner. Can't wait to see my efforts come to fruition.

Recommended store, site, product or resource? Walmart, Kmart and Dollar store.

This is so cute. I probably would have chosen white patio furniture by default, but the black is SO much more chic.

I love this for two reasons: 1) she's from VA, and 2) She's thrity! I love that she's not afraid to say that Walmart, Kmart and the Dollar Store are her recommended stores, instead of places like Pottery Barn, etc. Cozy little space and I love the bistro set up!

Where did you get the orange hanging flower pot from? I have been looking for something to hang off of my fenced in porch for my apartment.

I second eribina's comment - I have been looking for something exactly like the orange hanging pot!

Thank you so very much for all your positive feedback. Didn't know that it was published and that 6 people have seen and commented too!! eribina84, I bought the orange flower pot from a Dollar store here. I can do very little with the space that I have and my cost constraints. But I am happy you all found my space interesting.
