Look! Mad Mats Recycled Rugs
Washington DC

Mad Mats at homebody.jpgWe have posted about these fabulous recycled mats before in re-nest. The bright colors combined with their durable nature make them so very appealing. When we saw them displayed outside at Homebody's on Barracks row we had to take a look...

These indoor outdoor rugs are made in Thailand under fair trade conditions. They are created from recycled plastic (think soda bottles, milk bottles, etc…) and are perfect for outdoor use. In fact, they are great on wooden decks. They don’t absorb water so they will not rot the wood. Cleaning is a snap with a garden hose!

15 minutes later we were home admiring our new rug! The best part? It was on sale - Thanks Homebody!

very attractive! and the recycled element wins me over... i just wish i had the appropriate amount of floor space for one. i sure would prefer my cat refund his meal on one of these rather than my woven wool Persians!

The colors are gorgeous. They're everything you want a floor covering to be.

I got one of these after reading one of your previous posts. I bought a black one with frondy sage leaves with touches of terra cotta and ivory, and a terra cotta and ivory border. I love it. If dog and cat hair, barf, and other substances become an item, I take it outside and wash it down, which is easily done because it's very light to carry for a 5'x8' rug. (It's got plenty of heft to lie well on the floor, though.)

Why buy a mat when you can buy an outdoor rug which comes in many more sizes and designs and colors. Plus they are super easy to maintain and wash.

you can see them here
