Chestnut Hill Outdoor Living
Philadelphia Home

Chestnut Hill is one of my favorite parts of Philadelphia and I know that taking a glimpse into this outdoor space from Philadelphia Home will make you fall in love with it as well. The homes in Chestnut Hill are perfect examples of the past, present and future of Philadelphia. Homeowner Ann Stookey was right on target when designing her outdoor rooms (yes, she's lucky enough to have several outdoor spaces!) She shares how she highlighted the historical beauty of the exterior of her home, but also added modern lines and elements.

Ann's main entrance is so inviting and colorful. Her red front door and matching juniper topiaries on each side really make you excited to see what else she has in store. Plus, how elegant and fun are those pink and white peonies? On the opposite end of her home, It doesn't get much better than English Ivy that has been trained to create a diamond pattern on the exterior of her home, and it's artwork that keeps on growing!

What's better than having an indoor and outdoor living room? I'd say not much! The Stookey's designed a fabulous outdoor living room with the help from The Plant Connection. I think it's a great trick to frame the outdoor living room using boxwood hedges. The second (or should I say third) living room is a little more formal, and also covered. This area screams dinner party.

You can see the rest of Ann Stookey's Outdoor Spaces in the latest issue of Philadelphia Home.

It's always nice to see Philadelphia homes featured. We have many beautiful areas and your articles have done a fine job of showing them. Thank you!

And believe it or not, Chestnut Hill is still within city limits, but it has its own village-feel. And it's superclose to the Wissahickon.
