Closet (and Other) Renovations Made Easier:
Elfa Sale at the Container Store

ElfaCloset1.jpg

For those of you thinking of renovating your closet for DIY month, you might want to check out the Container Store before Sunday. This weekend marks the final days of the annual Elfa sale with 30 to 50 percent off Elfa shelving components...

AT has featured postings about various shelving options in the past, and it seems the Elfa line of products is consistently favored by our readers. Good friends used Elfa shelves to completely transform their cramped laundry room for the same cost as lower priced shelving by taking advantage of this same sale last winter.

Have you used Elfa or other shelving products in your DIY projects? Please share any tips or advice in the comments, and watch out next week for posts about my own closet transformation...

i've been in to take a look at elfa's sale...since we're renovating the bedrooms and redoing all the closets (yay!).

but DAMN, even on sale these things are insanely expensive.

so i've looked at elfa, ikea's versions of the same, regular ole standards and brackets, easyclosets.com - you name it! why is this stuff so complicated and expensive?? i can barely wrap my brain around The Closet Problem, which we're ignoring until the rooms are done done.

I went to CS last weekend for shoe racks. They were all crap! I was so disapointed. They were not sturdy or solid, or anything. I feel like I have looked at all the usual places (Walmart, Target, etc.). Am I missing some fab quality, mid range place?

I just organized my closet with a closetmaid kit from home depot. i got the one with a track system, which is somewhat customizable. it was slightly complicated to put up, but so far it's working great.

I just did my closet in ELFA, and I love it! It is a bit of an investment, but well worth it. Every little bit of space is used and it makes staying organized so much easier.

Sweet! I'm so in love with the Container Store! Thanks for the heads up.

This reminds me to post my before and after hall closet revamp in my flickr pool. Colleen, looking forward to seeing yours!

Earlier this week, I purchased a smaller Elfa set for my bedroom closet and last night, another for kitchen storage/organization. While I have not yet had the time to remodel the kitchen, I can tell already that I will have far more space for storage with the Elfa set.

i have done a couple of closets and the pantry at my mom's house in the last couple of years, each time it goes on sale. expensive but worth it. i can store so much stuff in the closets of a 500 sq foot apartment. the best part is the fact that there are just a few holes in the wall right at the top and i'm sold on the service at the Container Store. they plot it out for you, cut it, package it, cart it up. i walked around HD to buy ClosetMaid and gave up when i couldn't get any help and i was feeling lazy. i do enough DIY and i didn't mind paying for the help.
