When living in a city that is full of row homes, we tend to really appreciate a great roof deck (heck, even access to a roof is worthy of excitement). Even more excitement worthy is when it comes with a great view of the city and doesn't require any extra work. Party-ready is the best kind of roof deck!
1345 Berks St. was designed by young design team Moto Design Shop. It's located a little outside Center City, but hey, with a great view like that, who cares? The Mexican inspired roof deck can be accessed through an amazing geometric steel staircase. Once you're up there, you're able to enjoy the brightly painted walls and glass blocks.
I love that it's not just one giant open space, the walls act as dividers that would be great in a party atmosphere. Food and drinks in one section, guests and conversation in another! The backyard isn't too shabby either, is it? With a great table and chairs, it could also be a great spot to extend the party to.
Do you love the atmosphere of a roof deck party as much as I do?

I'm wondering, does that roof have a watering system for the lawn? Trying to keep plants alive on a sunny balcony, you can see how fast any abvailable water evaporates, so having a system to moisten THAT much plantlife would be critical! (As would having the engineering to support that much wet plantlife and dirt.) I love the idea, just being pragmatic about the maintenance issue.

I loved the steps leading up.

Not to be picky, but Fishtown is well within the limits of Philadelphia proper. It's just primarily residential and post-industrial, so there aren't high rise buildings and such.

Forget the roof deck, I just wanna know what the odds are of them actually selling this house for $430k in Fishtown, in this market. Yes, the house is beautiful, but still, it's in Fishtown, just saying...

Someone could take those stairs and really party on the roof deck.....but they sure aren't going to have fun coming down if they party too much.

Yep, ouzelum is right. I used to live in Philly and this is definitely within city limits.
