Shown are photos from the Elle Decor slideshow, which includes photos of the living areas and Ali Wentworth and her daughter. The Washington Post focused on the kids' room (with the shared king-size bed) and play area, the bold-patterned bathroom, and the entryway.

Neither - didn't particularly care for the house. Too many zebra stripes, too many shells, veers from too loud in some rooms to boring beige in others. And ewww that awful chair in the office. (I wouldn't mind having the house though :-))

The Elle Decor rooms are by far the more elegant - particularly that vast living room (pix 1 & 4)

Erm... No. Thanks anyway.

Meh. Doesn't look 'live-able'.

They can have it. Yawn.

The Elle Decor pictures are superior. But the decor is a turn off for me. It is too 'decorated' and designed for the owners to impress vs. actually live. It's impersonal like a nice hotel room.

I love that issue. That is the style of my home. Our friends love it. When I first put it together I myself thought it would be too stuffy but people have complemented on how elegant it looks.

I like the second photo, particularly the background color in the bookshelves.

It would be too busy for me. Just a little too much of this and that.

So pretentious... "hey everyone, look at how much money we have!"
Uptight, stuffy, cluttered: yuck!

Im with Brooklyn Rob and the other downers. This place tries way too hard to hit the right eclectic intellecutal notes. So they have enough $$ to hire a decorator that works without a budget - who cares? Less celebrity worshipping please.

The pictures in the washington post are fun. i love the colors in the girls' room and basement. the elle decor ones are too staged for my taste. and how many sitting rooms does one family need??

I'm with jamiealyse, the color scheme in the second photo is perfection.

The practical may shun it, but if you're a fan a decor for the sake of decor, then there's a lot to admire.
Great color schemes, unity within each room, and a different identity for each, as well.

is there another dining room? or can they only have two guests for dinner?

I LOVE the 2nd one.

i love the basement playroom. the thing i hate about it is that there are so many chatchkees all around and each and every one of them, as with every item in the house, looks intentionally placed by the interior designer. it does not look like the homeowners acquired any of the items on their own or placed them themselves. it looks far too....intentional. like a model home on steriods. and like it was all done in one day.

it does look very "decorated" staged but guys -- this is a shoot for ELLE DECOR. i doubt their place is always so tidy and staged to perfection for a photo shoot. the family room looks very cozy, i like that they've used dark furnishings even with dark walls -- i'm sure that's not easy to pull off. and the bedroom looks very serene. i like all the bergere chairs.

I love the color of the kitchen walls : )

I'll start out by saying that I love George.
That being said, I picked-up this Elle Decor for a recent flight and was sorely disappointed w/ their home.
And truth be told, I couldn't care less for Elle Decor as a publication.
