Marjorie's 'Coconut Cream' Florida Room
Room for Color - South #12

thumbs up

Name: Marjorie
Location: St. Petersburg , Florida
Type of Home: single family home

Color Inspiration: Being a transplant from Seattle, Washington, it's been a pleasant transition for me to welcome sunshine into my life! Here in Florida, it's common to have a Florida room which usually consists of a sunken room that acts as a gateway to the backyard. Ours is sans TV so it's perfect for teatime at night, enjoying coffee in the morning, relaxing and basking in the sun.

Give Marjorie a THUMBS UP if you think this room belongs in the finals!

Urban Tropics

Colors Used: Valspar Coconut Cream 3004-2C

Color Tip: Don't be shy! Color brings to the table a certain vibrancy that resonates from deep within. And when vibrancy resonates in your lifestyle, perspectives, attitudes and thoughts tend to take on a brighter hue! Inspiration in living color!

Oooooh! It's like sunshine! I've been impatiently waiting for some time to paint my living room a similar happy hue.

Lovely! Somehow all of your pieces work very nicely together.. Although I would like to shove your rug closer to the sofa, and hang the green painting a little bit lower :)

This is a refreshing take on Fl design because we all know what the typical FL design used to look like. I love that yellow, it is bright without being overwhelming. The light use of foliage is a relief as well.

Beautiful, but not exactly a Florida room, a typical Florida room has several more windows so you can enjoy the visual beauty of your tropical garden.

Can anyone identify the rug? I'm looking for something similar for my living room. Thanks!

Very pretty. That little peek of the dining room makes me want to see a house tour!

As a friend of Marjorie's I am a tad bit biased when it comes to her style. She is an AMAZING decorator....you should see the rest of the house! It is seriously like steping into a tranquil retreat!
