Name: Toni
Location: Gainesville, Florida
Type of Home: converted 1920s parsonage
Color Inspiration: Even though I love calming neutral homes, my boyfriend and I enjoy searching Craigslist and thrift stores for interesting finds too much to resist a colorful palate. We're also inspired the windows and wood floors in our house, after living in a very dark and carpeted apartment previously.
Give Toni a THUMBS UP if you think this room belongs in the finals!
Thumbs Up Voting is only activated for 48 Hours — so don't delay!
Colors Used: We painted the blue wall with Laura Ashley Sky Blue 5.
Color Tip: After starting off with the bright blue wall and lots of framed art, we're now working on bringing in neutral elements to balance out the bold color. Rustic baskets, potted plants, and simple curtains have helped the space feel more cozy.

I am voting for this just because that horse painting and frame is so perfect for that wall above the fireplace!

I love how the blue makes the artwork pop.
I also love your coffee table. Do you know who made it?

I really like the green with that bold blue. Wonderful, cozy space. What is a parsonage? Is it what it sounds like?

I love this blue! The contrast with the white dining room and colorful books is striking. :)

Cheery colors and vintage furniture. Very nice. It's an inviting space.

Delightful. I love the palette and the way it's executed in the room. And the fireplace is stunning!

where did you get your bench coffee table?! I've been looking for one that can fit our narrow living room. Thanks!

Thanks to everyone for letting my misspelling of palette slide :)
The coffee table is Aksel Kjersgaard for Odder. I bought it through an Ebay company that I'm loathe to recommend since I've learned more about it, but you can look it up for yourself: It's called TS & Company and it's run by the Dove World Outreach Center here in Gainesville. I believe that is also the group behind a similar Ebay store, Art Collector USA.
Sousani, I don't know much of the story behind this house, but from what I understand, it was the home of a priest/ clergyman (not sure of the appropriate title).

I love this place. Comfortable yet pulled together enough to enjoy the space. Thoughtful but not overly manicured and styled. Wonderful mix of bright blue with earthier colors and tones. Love the coffee table/bench and the horse painting too!

Where is the sofa from? Is it vintage? It's really nice. Great place!

Thanks! I'm not sure how old the sofa is, I bought it on Craigslist.

I see a certain similarity (and way too much symmetry) in many of the entries, and think this one has the best mix of color, texture, old/new, classic/funky -- and it feels livable, not sterile.

Love the colors - it all goes together nicely

I am obsessed with that blue and the palette is goregeous! I also really like the design and furnishings of rest of the room. The only problem is, they have nothing at all to do with one another. There's no other blue anywhere that I can see, and that beautiful olive is nowhere to be found. I understand the pop of color and irreverent mix, but it has to relate to something. Maybe the pictures just aren't capturing the room well.

egads, i loved it until i saw the darker of the two armchairs... my parents totally had that print for 25 years, i hope you don't have the same scratchy fabric! that print gives me nightmares! ah well one person's trash is another's treasure i suppose.

Who cares about the room, I swear you've kidnapped my dog and put him in your pictures.
Baxter is that you?? :)
Love your stuff, exactly my taste, and I'm with you on the dark, carpeted apartments. Can't wait to get out of ours in Jan.

are you guys in the duckpond area? that house looks pretty awesome even without all your sauce.

hla21 - We are replacing those cushions (whenever we get around to it). We just got that chair on Craigslist a couple of weeks ago. I will say that while I don't like the print the fabric isn't scratchy!
jisforgiraffe - That's awesome! I love seeing dogs that resemble our Herman :) Is Baxter a chihuahua?
ohmeursault - Yep, Duckpond. You're right, the house was cool before we moved anything in.
