Row 1:
• Schoolhouse Electric's Hampton 6, a fresh retro look for a classic schoolhouse pendant globe.
• Kichler- Seaside 1 light Olde Brick Pendant, a great looking industrial style light fit for a cool contemporary interior. It's also available as an indoor/outdoor wall sconce.
• Pottery Barn's Montgomery lamp. We love the curves of this old streetlight inspired light, available as a floor or table lamp.
• JC Penny Linden Street's Wood Pharmacy Lamp. We love pharmacy style lights, and we especially love this one's price tag.
Row 2:
• Martha Stewart's Soho Loft Pendant. A substantial industrial-inspired pendant with a simple silhouette.
• Pottery Barn's Oliver Sconce. We could imagine these stylish old school wall sconces would wake up a tired bedroom sale quite nicely. And the fact that they're over 50% off is quite nice as well.
• Seagull's Trenton Mini Pendants. We have 3 of these in our kitchen, and love them. They put off a lot of light and they add a lot of vintage character without taking up a lot of visual space.
• Pottery Barn's Photographer's Tripod Floor Lamp. A vintage inspired sturdy lamp with much more character than your average reading light.
• Pottery Barn's Leo Sconce. We love the rough edged look of this adjustable sconce that's intended for the bathroom, but would look equally as good in a bedroom or living room. It's also available as a double sconce.
Row 3:
• Etsy seller, Kam Lamp Company's Vintage Minimalist Three Light Pendant. Handmade from restored 100 year old Arrow sockets.
• Sea Gull's Single Light Red Pendant Simple style, classic design, and an easily digestible price tag make this bright retro style pendant a bright addition.
• Rejuvenation's Baldwin Pendant. An unfussy reinterpretation of an old schoolhouse favorite.
• West Elm's Globe Pendant. Stunningly simple, but it makes a great focal point.
• Sundance's Livingston Pendant. This galvanized steel pendant is about as uncomplicated and rugged as they come.
Row 4:
• Lowes' Hunter Schoolhouse Globe. For those looking to freshen an outdated ceiling fan, this fixture attaches at the fan's base and adds instant character to what is often a total eyesore.

I just explained my own schoolhouse creation at the end of this blog post...I really love the look and it cost me less than ten dollars to do.

Ok - you guys HAVE to check out Ergoiamtoo. They are home grown and the prices are fantastic! I just ordered a table from them. The owners are Mark and Judy - I spoke with Mark while ordering the table, he is the nicest man and he buys his stuff from school auctions and such.
I recently posted about them:

and oh, the table I ordered is the first pic!

Glad you like the room shot from our magazine, Style at Home.
It was produced by our senior design editor, Margot Austin, and shot by Daniel Harrison, a fabulous photographer here in Toronto, whom we use on a regular basis.
You can check out our website at www.styleathome.com for lots of other great content.
Cheers,

Anyone know of a source for a pendant similar to that red one in the third row that can be used outside? It would be perfect for my porch but I assume you can't use an indoor light safely outdoors.

I think these super adorable pendants from Roost would fit into this category - and they're inexpensive as well. http://17thandriggs.com/clearhanginglamp.aspx

Maybe this is obvious, but Schoolhouse Electric (stores in Portland and New York City) has a whole variety of schoolhouse style fixtures. I particularly like the fixtures in their Deco collection, which have something of a mod twist.

You can find outdoor Warehouse Shade pendant lights just like the ones you are looking for at formplusfunction.com.
I'd recommend the ones with stems for outdoor use, since they can withstand heavy winds. Great look! I got one in raw copper. Turned a tarnished brown over the years.

I have school house lighting all over my house. Cheap too.
$50 for a large pendant. A really affordable way to chic up the joint.

Does anyone know where to get a large glass globe pendant like the one in the default picture for this post? I've seen the West Elm one, but am looking for something a little more grand... Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

That JC Penny lamp is quite a pleasant surprise.
I love schoolhouse lighting because its design is so close to industrial. Straightforward, clean, durable.
