Last month's setting up home theme made us think about our empty walls. We don't have much big art and we're reluctant to fill them with posters &mdash unless they were cool and framed. So began our search for awesome posters...
Last month's setting up home theme made us think about our empty walls. We don't have much big art and we're reluctant to fill them with posters &mdash unless they were cool and framed. So began our search for awesome posters...
• Ork Posters
When searching for grown-up posters, Ork Posters were of course, our first choice. Who doesn't love these?
• Transit Authority Figures
We've posted on these earlier this year, and they just keep getting cooler, with new fake subway maps for our favorite places.
• Patent Pending Industries
A Seattle-based company, Patent Pending Industries is a great source for concert posters, like this one of the Shins.
• Mat Daly
Mat Daly also makes sweet concert posters, but we're all over this artlike poster of flatware.
• The Poster List
The Poster List is just a great source for artlike posters, inspirational posters and more.
• Posteritati
Posteritati is probably the best place out there for classic movie posters. We can see them in dining rooms and TV rooms.
• Keep Calm Gallery
The Keep Calm poster may have had its day, but there's plenty more to choose from at the Keep Calm Gallery, such as this silver lining poster.
Do you know of more sources?
what's the point of a "fake" transit map? Why not just frame a DC metro map for free?

ec05, the fake subway map is for Northampton/Amherst, a place that will probably never have a subway. It's a joke.

The fake subway maps remind me too much of the real NYC MTA map, which reminds me of the subway that I loathe.

I get that it's a joke, I just don't know why you'd pay to have it on your wall.

I like the Poster List. I don't like their liberal slant, but quite a few of their posters are hangup worthy. I have three

I'm a big fan of gigposters.com. They have a bunch of stuff for sale through the site, but the really great thing about the site is that you can search through all the posters and contact the artists directly to see if they're available for purchase.

I just framed my Beck poster from The Small Stakes. So much better than those glossy thin ones hanging in my teenage bedroom. These ones are limited silkscreens with minimal graphics. http://thesmallstakes.com

I agree w/ coyotbeck, small stakes does some gorgeous prints (posters). I have the first treasure island music festival poster framed and hanging in my bathroom and a blonde redhead also by small stakes framed and hanging in the hallway. we've gotten plenty of compliments from them and I think posters are a great alternative to paintings. they are fun, graphic, and great conversation pieces. also if you are like a humorous take on pirates, check out 826 valencia's collection at:

If I see one more Keep Calm and Carry On poster in a design magazine, I'm going to throw myself out of a window treatment (modified Sex and the City quote).
