Roundup: Uniquely Re-Purposed Lighting Fixtures

It's no surprise that etsy has become a top spot for all things creatively re-cycled. Outside the etsy bubble, the buzz-prefix, "re" — "re-claimed" and "re-purposed" — may equal expensive, but within the handmade haven, it often still means stylishly affordable. So naturally, on our quest for unique lighting options for our home, etsy was the first stop. Here's a sampling of our favorite re-purposed lights...

The tin can night light is one of the many creative lighting designs from Mariposa Avenue.

As a spray paint addict and a junketeer, I felt an instant connection with this handmade desk lamp from Breeze Block (bblock).

4 21 boxingday milk jug lamp.jpg Recycled perfection! We love the curves and luminous aura of BoxingDay's pendant lamp made from recycled milk cartons.

4 21 birdwing productions horn lamp.jpg We love the mod colors, Amy Butler fabric shade, and unique combination of materials that make this Birdwing Productions lamp a bright focal point.

4 21 mcGdesign etsy pipe candle.jpg Quirky and masculine. We love McGdesign's candle sticks made from copper pipe fixings.

4 21 cecietcela cigar lamp.jpg I'm a fan neither of scotch nor cigars, but the elegant aura of this clubby styled table lamp from cecietcela sent me swooning.

4 21 organelle hanger lamp.jpg A bit pricier than the others, but we had to include it for its ingenuity. Made from plastic store hangers, Organelle's Hangelier, radiates witty retail glam.

The tin can nightlight is very cute! One of the Cuban restaurants here in Richmond, VA has re-purposed old Cafe Bustelo cans for wall sconces (they've cut them like the nightlight can) and they are adorable and perfect for the location.

Why is it called the boxing day pendant? It looks exactly like the IQ lamp?

(it's a great use of milk carton, but still, a little weird not to give credit where credit is due IHMO)
