Cayman Daybed at Restoration Hardware
Washington DC

CaymanDaybed.jpg

With Escapes on our minds this month, we've been on the lookout for furniture that helps to bring a vacation flavor to everyday life. Though we've found a lot of themed furniture, finding pieces that look equally at home in a vacation rental or a permanent residence has been more difficult...

With its hand-wrapped rattan woven around a solid mahogany frame, the Cayman Daybed from Restoration Hardware would bring an island flavor to any room, though its clean lines mean it won't be out of place amidst more modern decor. The Cayman Daybed is not available in stores but is on sale right now for $950 (plus S&H).

Yuck. As a person who has "themed" rooms before, this is a monstrosity. The way the base and the sides come together causes my eyes to hurt.
