There is an odd nook in our kitchen hallway – it’s too small for a table and chairs, but we knew it had potential. Not wanting to invest in building shelves at the moment, we remembered our “8 Places To Put a Dresser” post. This seemed like perfect solution. As is the case with many DC apartments, storage space is limited.

We found an old white dresser at a thrift store for 60 dollars, put in some fun glass knobs and voila! We now have a convenient place to store table cloths, napkins, and miscellaneous craft supplies.
I had a similar dresser in the kitchen in my old place, which had terrible cabinet space. The dresser was great for storing table linens, pots and pans, and canned goods.

My best friend did the same thing in her kitchen, with an ole ordinary dresser she painted bright red.

I have a small 4 drawer ikea dresser that a co-worker gave to me for free. I replaced the hardware and it is now my kitchen linen/misc bake ware supply storage. I love it.
Plus, it gives me a nice place to put plants in the window.

I like the idea of having a dresser in the kitchen,,, love the winner Jesse's dresser in his kitchen.
I have so many cookbooks and it would be a great place to store them.

A friend of mine uses an ordinary counter-height dresser, topped with a slab of marble, as a kitchen island. Quirky, thrifty, and practical.

I like the idea. I like the dresser. I just hate it pushed into the corner like that.

love the idea; you could put a butcher block on top for another prep area

I am using a dresser in my kitchen as a microwave stand. Works much better than the wire cart I had before.

I think it's a great idea. Even when replacing cabinetry I encourage my clients to replace some of the lower cabs with drawers. Just make sure you put light stuff like utensils and linens in the top drawers because heavy things are awkward to remove.

I think it's a good idea, but I also hate the placement. Take the wine rack off the floor, hang the picture, and make the whole thing more useful.

I have a large King George type dresser in my dining room. it stores the linens and candles and...the liquor! It makes a great liquor cabinet- high enough to keep visiting munchkin's hands off of the glassware!

With a small bookcase on top it could look like a hutch. The right proportions and the same coat of paint- no one would know they were separate pieces.
