Ellipse Bookcase by La Maison Francaise
Washington DC

8-25-ellipse.jpg

We came across this Ellipse Bookcase by La Maison Francaise in our ongoing search for unusual but practical room dividers. This one appeals to us because of its curved shape and solid wood frame...

Too bad it's not available in the U.S. Have you seen anything similar here? Do you have any other interesting room divider ideas?

very nice. i can see it with a backing of rice paper to make it even more useful as a privacy screen yet still able to diffuse light.

Here's a stunning room-size etagere where the circle motif is a cut-out pass-through: http://stylenorth.ca/blog/2008/06/dragon-heir/

Its nice, but a little clunky. Looks like you could break it if you bumped into it.

That would look good in front of my loft's big window.

That's beautiful. It's like a modern-meets-Asian-meets-Hobbit take on a bookcase. Lovely.
