What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your small home? The biggest problem was to decide if I was going to leave the walls or not, and making a small loft... Finally, even it is very small (40 square meters) I managed to separate the spaces: the kitchen, dining room, the living room, and the bedroom.

The basics are there, now let's spruce it up! Paint color perhaps?

Good luck!

I don't mean to be rude - because this apartment looks like it might be really nice - but in a contest based on audience votes, picture quality matters and these are quite blurry. Perhaps in some cases AT should recommend that entrants re-take pictures if they really want to be in the contest? It just seems irrational to have people based voting on pictures they can barely make out. But that might just be me...

Also, the walls seem a bit bare.

I agree about the photographes, it's hard to judge something you cannot see properly.

The place looks promissing but lacks personality. Books, pictures, or as suggested a bit of paint might do the trick.

I think that this place is off to a great start. Like previous posters, this place just needs a boost of personality with artwork, color and books.

I like your kitchen. The open shelf above the sink, instead of cabinets, is cool. It opens up the space a lot. And your dining space is cool too.

I agree to a certain extent with other posters that your place seems a little sparse, but I don't think that's always a bad thing. If it's what works for you, go for it! Especially since you have some really cool pieces of furniture to show off.

Thanks for sharing your home with us.

I agree. I think this place has lots of potential. Some art work can add a needed color boost to your place. Maybe some table lamps or added lighting of some sort. I think you have done a good job so far and I am glad that you shared it with us.

I like this place. And I like the bare walls. The bed could use some umph, though.

I love the kitchen and the window by your dining table.

You've only just begun....the empty walls are begging for art work. Art need not be expensive to be effective at lifting ch’i (energy). To paraphrase Mae West, art just needs to be good looking and well hung. If your budget does not allow you to buy Andy Warhol originals–or even limited edition prints–you might consider purchasing original art from some local fine artists instead. Attend local art fairs and small galleries to get a feel for what is available. Another
inexpensive alternative is framed poster art or wall stencils and decals. Good luck!

Although the pictures are not crystal clear I can see everything just fine. Your place is nice but appears as if you've just finished putting in the furniture and not much decorative stuff. As someone mentioned above perhaps adding some color in the bedroom? A quilt on the bed? And as yet someone else suggested some art on the walls?

I agree that this apartment is on it's way there... but it definately hasn't arrived yet. Love the dinning set up... and the space is very bright. I like the movement towards earthy and neutral colors on white but there still needs to be some activity in this space: plants, wall art, more furniture/lighting. As it is it seems far too incomplete. Also, rule of thumb-- always use a duvet cover. It can be white, but a coverless duvet is... how do you say... well, it's a mistake is all. A duvet cover looks proper and finished AND protects your down comforter from getting dirty as quickly. Have you tried washing down? A cover is easy to come by and can easily be stitched from two flat sheets for a DIY version. On a positive note, I'd really like to see this abode once it has become a little more developed.

That being said... is anyone else surprised by the number of "unfinished" -esque entries this year? I would have loved entering the contest this year, but it's like a no brainer that my apartment isn't ready yet, and probably won't be till this fall at the earliest. It's a design contest people! not an "isn't my apartment cute" contest.

I LOVE the pairing of the table and chairs. The mixture of textures throughout the house is very pleasing and I also like that the walls are bare. Thumbs up!

Lots of good things going on here. But I'd love to see something on the walls.

I like your place! Where in BA are you? I lived there for a while... did you buy your Eames chairs locally?

I like the brightness of this apartment, but it looks really unfinished and not lived in enough yet. Looking forward to see more when you've add decorations and all. You're on the right track though!
