mtvhouse2.jpg
MTV's "The Real World" is coming to DC and we now know the location: in Dupont Circle at 2000 S Street NW/1734 20th Street NW (the two addresses are together). The DCist, a great local blog, linked to photos of the house interior, which were quickly yanked off the web. Not to worry: we found more so click through to see them! Do you like the "The Real World" Dupont Circle location? What do you think of the house? Survey, more gossip, and house interior photos below the jump...

D.C. government records have the property valued at $5.69 million. MTV or an affiliate appears to be renting the house. Check out more interior photos of the house by clicking here.

I stopped being interested in the "Real World" after the Seattle show.

Would anyone honestly miss it if it wasn't on TV anymore?

I would not miss the Real World if it went away. The last one I watched was Hawaii.

It looks...um...unfinished. Potential, yes, and the stairway is kind of cool, but the rest of it is going to depend entirely on how you furnish and decorate it. Which I'll probably never see, since I've never seen any of the Real World incarnations.

I love that it is over 2300 miles from my home, therefor I think it's great.

gosh darn it. i hope these 7 strangers being in dc, dupont no less, doesn't negatively impact my access to alcohol and to geting rip-roaring drunk, throw up on my own stoop and stumble to bed.

Now just imagine it in every color in a Crayola box. Oh, and with dirty dishes and crap everywhere.

I'm sure they'll flock and confine themselves to Adams Morgan, just stay away from there after dark for the summer

Honestly I'm more excited about the Real Housewives of DC. I think The Real World is getting a little stale just like MTV.

I hope the place was already gutted before MTV acquired it :-/

If they continue the tradition of previous houses they will probably paint the interior 7 shades of neon orange, yellow, blue and purple. Real World stopped being watchworthy years ago.

Oh yay, it's 2 blocks from my friend's condo. Maybe that will be enough to convince her to move to NOVA. ;)

drunk frat boys and slutty girls, well at least they are in the right city for it. I'm sure they will make it as ugly as the other real world houses.

presumably, the "house guests" will be drawn to participation in the Real World DC because of their interest in politics, government, service etc. How will their bawdy bad behavior jibe with the button down beltway and the careers they hope to cultivate here?

As for opinion on the house, I fear they will destroy the interior of the house with over the top and gauche design

To be honest, I didn't realize this was still on TV - shouldn't it have been cancelled years ago? All they do is drink, party, fight, etc.

This sucks, I hate MTV and haven't watched it in years but the fact that they're filming real world here is more awful than DC itself. Can they deal with the rude people here and all the traffic? They want to make DC look nice LOL, they should have put re house on the bad side of southeast! The republican politicians will be pissed when they're caught on cam going to get serviced by the gays in dupont since that's where the house is LOL. I still wonder when music television has time to show a music video with all these reality shows. The cast is in for a rude awakening like any tourist who comes here to find that DC is nothing like it's made out to be on tv or MTV!

The Obama Factor is definitely making DC a reality-TV magnet! Real Housewives, Real World, and CW's Blonde Charity Mafia are all making shows here.

I'm kinda curious to see what sort of jobs they give these kids -- the Real Worlders have jobs, right? Hopefully the show will partner with some great charity org like PETA or PIRG or Greenpeace and get these kids walking the halls of Congress and doing other outreach and advocacy work, that would make their jobs like those of most other newbies in group houses in DC.

I think they'll be hanging in U Street, Georgetown and Columbia Heights. Adams Morgan is really "over" and there aren't any brightshiny clubs or restaurants that are big enough for a film crew. (RIP Felix.) Commonwealth in ColHts, Mie N Yu in Georgetown, and BBAP (Busboys and Poets) at 14th and V Streets -- that's where I'd be hanging if I wanted to see the Real Worlders! (Which I don't). They may make it over to one of the big nightclubs off New York Ave ... I feel out of it but I haven't kept up with what's over there.

I used to live 2 blocks from this house. It's pretty cool, but run down. This is such a pretty, quiet block; the neighbors are gonna hate them.

Dupont Circle is being taken over by the drunken, overgrown frat boys and sororoty types, so the Real Worlders should fit right in.

Yeah, they're going to destroy that house alright.

Based on the pictures, no, it's not impressive. The outside is pretty though. I'm sure it will be cool when MTV is done with it. I haven't even watched The Real World for years, I think Austin was the last one for me. They should go back to when they actually had to work and they weren't just people who got drunk, fought and hooked up in the house.

1. MTV sucks major ass

2. The Real World is NOT the real world (nor is any other reality show for that matter, which MTV must take a lion's share of blame for conceiving)

3. Anything they "design" is garish, tasteless and over the top, just like the kids they stick in these houses

Love the exterior - how can anyone resist a house with a turret? I'm not a fan of the show, though, so I'll probably never see what they do with the interior.

I agree with kgenesius. Stop hating on DC!!

Anyway, I'm slightly anti-MTV and I think all they will do is make the city look bad. Don't they just recycle the same old crazy drunk people cycle after cycle? I'll be sure to stay away from Dupont during filming.

To actually answer the question, I think the house is hot. MTV's use of it? Not.

This is two blocks from my home, and I'm really not looking forward to these jerks ruining the neighborhood for a few months. We've already got tour busses coming past the house on S St.

Sigh.

The house is fine...I'm sure they'll destroy it. Not looking forward to having this trainwreck of a tv show in my city. DC feels a lot smaller than it is - going to have to avoid places they go. Here's to hoping they discover Georgetown, fall in love, and only hang out there.
