Gustav Laptop Table from IKEA

9-26-gustav-desk.jpg

We have mentioned before our ongoing quest for a small and functional workspace; we continue to draft these posts sitting on the couch with the laptop. We found the Gustav laptop desk on the Ikea website and fell instantly in love; we're hoping to head out to College Park this weekend to see it in person...

With its pull-out work surface and storage for your laptop, the Gustav Laptop Table can turn any small space into a functional work space. There is a cable outlet in the pull-out work surface and the compartment at the back makes it easy to hide and organize cables, chargers and sockets. You can mount the pull-out work surface on either the right or the left depending on your preference.

Has anyone already seen the Gustav in person? If so, what did you think? At only $149, we're giving it some serious consideration...

I love it! my immediate thought was also that it would be a great sewing table. it reminds me of the kind my grandma used to have with the top that flipped open to form extra work space.

You can buy casters and put them on yourself, if it's the lack of wheels that's breaking the deal.

I've been in love with this little guy for awhile now. BUT it still hasn't shown up at my local IKEA (Sacramento) even though the website said it was in stock.

I keep returning to this post because of it's cuteness. And I like the design and idea, but not sure there is enough leg room for me to work for an extended amount of time. Am I missing something about this piece?
