As one of DC's most popular young designers, Paul Corrie has been in the local spotlight for a number of years. However, in recent months he has received a lot of well-deserved buzz on the national level. This month Traditional Home names him the winner of the Young Traditional Designer Contest after having swept up both the Reader's and Designer's Choice Awards.
Traditional Home featured Paul's Mount Pleasant home makeover in their October issue (pictured above), in which his mastery of sophisticated neutrals and fresh take on classic style takes center stage. Rather than relying on color for the punch, Paul's home emphasizes a livable and inviting type of restraint. Unlike the jarring palette of the home pre-redo, which you can check out on his blog, where some lovely furnishings get lost amidst the overwhelming wall colors, Paul's re-mastered residence embraces a calm range of colors where the lines of furniture, art, and vignettes take center stage. The result is utterly unfussy and extremely elegant.

Congratulations Paul on the well-deserved award!
