What I Love About My Small Home:
Apartment hunting in NYC is not easy. I kissed a lot of frogs before I finally found the one. I knew the minute I walked in the door that this little jewel box would be mine, even though it wasn't meant to be at the time. I fell in love with the pre-war charm, lots of windows, and northern city exposure that goes for miles. So I waited until the timing and price were right, and eventually fate intervened. What's most special about my apartment is the home I've created inside. Since I have a limited floor plan, I keep things fresh with an evolving mix of art, accessories, and statement pieces, like the vintage x-bench from my mother recently reupholstered in a John Robshaw fabric. All of my treasures have special meaning, particularly the trinkets from my grandmother and the large modern canvas painted by my uncle, an artist in Washington, D.C. But what I love most is that feeling I get when I walk in the door every evening. I'm always happy to be home.
