- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- My bedroom is like a tiny jewel box. It's actually the biggest and brightest room in my very small apartment, and was a key selling point in an otherwise light challenged space. Many people advised against painting a small room dark blue, including my painter, and I almost chickened out. But it was the best decision I made...the bermuda blue walls play off the amazing New York City skyline outside my window. The room glows, and is both dazzling and calming at the same time.
- What are your tips for creating a beautiful, healthy and organized bedroom?
- The key to living in a small space is keeping everything in its place. I curate the things I love most to avoid clutter, and often rotate my art and collectibles rather than have everything on display at once. I also enjoy coming home to a beautifully made bed, so I never leave the house without doing so. I guess all those years of my mother insisting I clean my room paid off!
- In modern homes, bedrooms have become more than just a place to sleep; they can be a retreat, a home office, a library, a relaxation zone. What are some ways you make the most of your bedroom?
- My bedroom does double duty as my office. I sit at my desk in front of the picture window typing away on my laptop. Sometimes I get lost in the view and day dream about life in the city.

Stunning! I especially love the bedspread, the black lamp and that amazing chair. It's like a hotel!
"dazzling and calming at the same time"--yes, good description! It's gorgeous. What is the blue color on the walls?
I've got to know- where does the bedding come from?
Beautiful! House tour, please!
LOVE IT!
It's stunning. So unexpected and yet, as you said, dazzling and calming.
I especially love the bedside tables, and the art just over it. I want them too !
I can look at individual pieces in this room and see things I'm not crazy about but somehow all of it together really works. The colours are amazing!
That little upholstered bench is gorgeous - did you do that yourself?
My bedroom is even smaller, and I painted it an even darker color (a dusky/grayish purple). I also call mine a jewel box! I like small bedrooms, and I think the dark color makes it even cozier. I also like crisp white bedding, which creates a balance.
Your mirrored side tables and shiny white dresser reflect so much light. I love that little x-bench.
Gorgeous! I am in love!
Fabulous. Great color and beautiful accessories.
There's not one thing I'd change...u got my vote.
idyllic! I think this is my favorite so far.
This makes me really miss my dark blue bedroom. I painted it a light gray to try to freshen it up and it's just not the same. This might just convince me to repaint. Again. :)
Absolutely stunning! Funny that your painter advised against a dark color paint when many top-line interior designers/decorators advise FOR it. It's why you see powder rooms often done in rich jewel-tone colors - it envelopes you rather than being a small room that's dull.Adore every piece of furniture. Well done you!
P.S. AT - would love a full tour of her home with the apartment layout included.
I haven't even bothered to vote on any of these posts yet, but this room was so beautiful I actually did! It look amazing. Love the pops of color against the dark blue. Looks so rich!
I MUST know where that bedding is from! It's incredible!
This is so pretty and elegant. And I love the rich blue walls - they really do glow! I also love how nicely made your bed is; it's becoming a lost art.
Beautiful. Love the paint color; so glad you went with your intuition and painted the room blue. What a spectacular, sparkling room.
Hello! Can you please please please post the color of the walls? GORGEOUS. Well done!!
Wonderful choices! Your bedding looks jacobean to me. And I love the sunburst mirror -- could you tell me where you bought it?
Lovely! Definitely a contender for the top 4.
Best bedroom I have seen, without a doubt.
Great colors throughout and that wall color has personality!
Thanks everyone for the positive comments, you made my day!
Bedding is Pottery Barn Bettina. Wall color is Benjamin Moore Bermuda Blue. The x-bench, which is my favorite part of the room, was recovered in a John Robshaw fabric. Sunburst mirror was found on Wayfair or Overstock, can't remember exactly.
Stunning & most unique! A beautiful collection of old & new, and the color is spot on! WINNER!!
great use of color.
Impressive uses of color without assaulting the senses!
Gorgeous! Love the art on the night table!
Thank you so much for listing the color! You have great taste and a great room! Voting for you!!
