December in Chicago: Entertaining and More

December in Chicago: Entertaining and More

The end of the year is a natural gathering time. Celebrating, giving gifts, catching up with people we wish we saw more of - it's a good time. It's also a busy time - we're having friends over for dinner on Friday, and the errands we need to take care of for that small party are part of an already crowded list of things to do. For example, this past weekend alone, we:

  • threw a party for 6 ten-year olds

  • shopped for gifts

  • shopped for groceries

  • wrapped gifts

  • shipped gifts

  • bought a tree

  • decorated a tree (shown here as proof!)

  • went to a fantastic party...

  • and ate homemade chicken soup in between to ward off the Chicago chill.

All of this activity shows no signs of stopping...but we say Tis the season! We can always sleep in 2008.

This week on AT:Chicago, we're focusing on ideas, items and inspirations for entertaining, and since we're doing a bit of it ourselves, we appreciate any info you'd like to send our way. Ideas, photos, questions and tips for hosts and hostesses are most welcome at chicago (at) apartmenttherapy (dot) com.

Also coming up this week, more looks at the lofts from our House Tour party, a Holiday House Tour from a reader, a few last minute gift ideas and all the regular goodies.

Finally, starting next week, we'll begin our annual review of all the good stuff from AT from the previous year.

Have a good week and stay warm!
