We have a longstanding love affair with number decor. Last September Leslie pointed us toward the number 5 that started the crush, and we're still swooning. Graphic, ordered, and universal — they have a bold, understated presence that creates an interesting focal point in every setting in which they're placed. Here's a round-up of some current favorites...

They add an unexpected punch to stair risers. You can imitate the look by using durable floor and deck paint to paint a stair runner down the middle of the stairs and using stencils to paint on the numbers. Number decals like these would also work.
