We love seeing little signs of the holiday season sprouting up around us. We recently spotted some evergreen boughs tied together on the outside of a neighbor's apartment door. It looks great and adds some cheer to the otherwise drab common space of the building.
What do you make of decorating the door to your apartment? We know some buildings may not allow it since it's part of the common space, but let's hear what you have to say.

I found some lovely removable vinyl stickers on Etsy of tree ornaments and stuck them high on my door in a contrasting color. Festive, simple and easily removable!
I'm going to have to look up those stickers!
I just have a glittered berry and pine cone wreath and a snowflake doormat (both from Target)... but it does a great job of brightening up the hallway (I'm one of two units that has anything up out of 8 units on my floor)
My Building is only two unit so it's definitely not a problem. I have a homemade wreath up.
A tip about hanging wreaths or other things on your door without putting a nail hole in the door is to use ribbon and your door nob as leverage. Wrap the ribbon over the top of the door and then secure it to your door nob on the opposite side of whatever you're hanging.
Use on of the removable adhesive hooks
I love that painting.
My neighbor across the landing takes care of seasonal decorating. There just isn't room for any more festiveness out there (so glad Halloween is over! Talking moving zombie butlers are only fun for so long...).
Shastablata, won't that look goofy on the inside? And how do you keep it from sliding toward the knob side of the door?
I have metal doors, which I just painted with latex. I think a command adhesive thing might take some of the paint with it. and i don't know about drilling into it . . . .
I've always just used a wire coat hanger bent into shape to hold wreaths on my door. You can wrap it in ribbon if you want to dress it up, but I find it's pretty inconspicuous.
I got a big, sparkly red ribbon at Target and put it on my door with one of the removable 3M hooks...it's simple, bright, and makes my end of the hallway look cheerful :)
There's no need to fiddle with how to hang a wreath - just get a wreath hanger, they're cheap. Here's some examples:

@NorNor It definitely does not slide towards the door nob. The weight of the object keeps it in place. I made my wreath, so incorporated red ribbon into the wreath. You do see it on the other side but it doesn't really bother me. When I get out my other decorations I might clip an ornament to it. Depending on how heavy a thing you are hanging you could use heavy duty fishing line and you wouldn't see it.
I decorate my door and enjoy seeing the decorations of others too. I do get irritated at my neighbor when her wreath that says Merry Christmas on it is still up in May. I'm curious if anyone else has that problem and what do they do about it. Maybe this year will be different, but right now there still are rotting pumpkins on their balcony so I'm not counting on it.
there are great wreath hanging magnets out there for metal doors, and they come in two pieces so you can use them on glass doors too!
